Each year, Community Bank Epping awards grants to a wide range of charities, clubs and service organisations in the Epping area who approach the bank for support.
In 2022, the Board invited our four branch staff to take part in a special grants event. They were each asked to nominate a local charitable organisation to receive a one-off grant. This could be a body they have volunteered with, or whose work they admire, or even a group that has their banking with the branch and discuss their work with the staff.
With positive feedback, the program was extended in 2023. Staff could nominate up to two organisations for greater funding, and the Board of Directors also chose a recipient. In all, 8 very different bodies were chosen – but with the common theme that they help our community to be a better place to live.
The grants were celebrated at a function in October bringing together representatives from each organisation. They outlined the work they do and how the funding would be used and discussions shone a light on need in our community and how many people volunteer to help others.
The recipients came from service organisations to youth bodies, sports to services for people with disabilities or struggling with domestic and family violence. Community Bank Epping looks forward to forming lasting relationships with these groups and helping them with future projects.
