Epping Score 1st and 2nd in the 60m state titles

Epping District Athletics Club celebrated a double win on the podium recently. Carl Corey Ewing and Lewis Clabburn, both coached by Andrew Murphy took out first and second place: Carl with a time of 6.79 into a -1.7 wind and Lewis, 6.90 into a -1.7 wind.

Bendigo Community Bank Epping has had a long-standing relationship with EDAC, a legendary club with a history of producing winners. As recent winners of our business award, it was heartening to see our logo emblazoned on the winners’ outfits!

Helping cats to find their forever homes is an imp

Helping cats to find their forever homes is an important cause for our team member, Junie. That's why he nominated World League for Protection of Animals (WLPA) as his charity to receive a special staff grant this year.
WLPA advocates for the rights of animals, and runs a shelter in Gladesville with a no-kill policy. They have a range of animals available for re-homing but particularly cats.
Their passion for helping animals won over the audience at our recent staff grants night when they received $2,000 towards their work. A great choice, Junie!

There is great progress at the North Epping Men's

There is great progress at the North Epping Men's Shed with work on the final fit out inside.
One important job was the installation of lots of different types of lighting. Community Bank Epping was happy to step up with some additional grant funding towards the cost.
We are a major sponsor of this great project - a new hub for Epping and North Epping residents. There are now working bees on Monday and Tuesdays and it won't be long before projects and groups start up. So, if you want to join, stick your head in and say hi. The Shed is open to all.

Community sport offers so much, but is reliant on the hard work of volunteers, members fees and goodwill, and what other funding clubs can raise.
Annual sports club sponsorship is one way they can reduce registration fees, buy new equipment, do maintenance, and help their coaches and umpires with skills development. All so everyone can have the best possible time on the field.

Our team came together this week for our annual Staff Grants night - the chance for them to nominate a local charity for a special grant.
A very diverse set of organisations were chosen - from transitional housing for domestic violence survivors at Women's Community Shelters to singing with the dementia-inclusive Good Life Chorus. There was the inspiring Heartbeat of Football foundation and the pioneering Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. And the cute cats saved and adopted out by the World League for Protection of Animals - @wlpa_aus
Stories of community, amazing volunteers, making a difference and giving back were shared. An inspiring event for everyone and only one part of Community Bank Epping's extensive grants and sponsorships program.

Cheltenham Girls P&C applied for a grant to overhaul their second hand clothing area - and look at the difference! Racking and storage means the P&C can easily present all their stock and run great second hand sales, like they did last Saturday.

Community grants are a great way to help the P&Cs

Community grants are a great way to help the P&Cs at our local schools provide extra resources and opportunities to our kids.
Ngarala Public School opened a couple of years ago and is growing fast. The P&C applied for funding to provide more laptops and resources for their peer mentoring programs.
Our chair, Rob Phillips, was delighted to visit recently, meeting P&C President, Natalie, and Principal, Bek, and some of the pupils.
Our Epping branch returns 80% of profits to our local community through grants and sponsorships and this is a great example of where funding goes.

Earlier this year, the Cheltenham Girls High Schoo

Earlier this year, the Cheltenham Girls High School P&C applied to Community Bank Epping for a grant to help them with their clothing pool. They wanted to offer more secondhand clothes to parents - but needed storage equipment and display racking.

What a great idea! Savings for parents and the reuse of clothing that is often in great condition. So, if you know someone starting at CGHS next year, or an existing student, share the info about this sale happening on Saturday 21st.

Our community grants program helped more than 40 local organisations like this in the last year with funding.

Huge weekend for Epping Eastwood Tigers FC and @North Epping Rangers Sports Club with their Presentation Days. On sunny days, the Community Bank Epping marquees were out in force - one of the ways in which we support these terrific local community sports clubs.
