It has been a very busy start to 2024 for Community Bank Epping and our latest Autumn 2024 newsletter has a great round up of what we’ve been up to.

Already this year, our branch has received a record number of applications for community grants and sponsorships. As a truly community bank – we strive to return 80% of our annual profits to the district through supporting local not-for-profit and charitable projects. From newly fitted out canteens in use this winter soccer season, to a new community hall in Epping – it is a busy time. There is even now a horse named Bendy at the Riding for the Disabled Centre in Marsfield!

We’ve also taken time to celebrate 20 years of service from our long-standing staff member, Karen. And the rest of the team have been busy with many new customers and assistance for existing bank users.

Community Bank Epping was set up by over 200 enter

Community Bank Epping was set up by over 200 enterprising locals in North Epping in 2003. Many are still shareholders today and the successful operation of the bank is testimony to their foresight.

The Annual General Meeting of Epping and Districts Financial Services Ltd (who operate Community Bank Epping) will take place on Thursday 28 November, at 7pm, at the North Epping Bowling Club. All shareholders, customers and community members are welcome to attend.

What a great opportunity! Epping Scout Group, NSW

What a great opportunity! Epping Scout Group, NSW not only gets to do all the usual Scouting things, but they also learn to sail on the Parramatta River at Meadowbank, from a purpose-built boat shed. It was great to see them sail down the river on Saturday afternoon, learning skills and resilience, whilst having fun.
Epping Scouts came to Community Bank Epping for a grant to update their personal floatation devices (lifejackets) due to their old ones reaching their use-by date. Our community grants program was happy to help, and now they have a summer of sailing and canoeing ahead.

Ever wondered what that building behind the playground at the park on Norfolk Road is?
It's the Epping Athletics Centre and home to a longstanding district athletics club - @edac_2121 Members use the athletics track behind to train, but also have a new sparkling gym in the clubhouse after receiving a grant from Community Bank Epping to renovate very old facilities.

The P&C from Epping Public School applied for a gr

The P&C from Epping Public School applied for a grant from our community program recently - and it was a simple request.
Students love to play handball at break time - but they didn't have nearly enough courts in the playground. The bell would go, and it was like a starting gun - children rushing out to bag a court!
Our grant funded the painting of new courts, and the old ones got a revamp. Across the playground, students can now interact and have fun.
Our chair, Rob Phillips, called in to see the new courts recently - meeting Principal, Mrs Semler, and school captains Jeanna and Roy.

What a star! Bendy the horse (Community Bank Eppin

What a star! Bendy the horse (Community Bank Epping's sponsored horse at the @rdarydecentre in Marsfield) loves being the centre of attention. 🐴
Last week, a film crew (and our chair, Rob Phillips!) was at the Riding for the Disabled Centre on behalf of Bendigo Bank to film the amazing work of volunteers, teachers and parents. But Bendy was front and centre.
With funding from a grant, the Centre added Bendy to their stable - and now more children and adults with a disability can enjoy riding. And build confidence and resilience in a supportive environment.
